Madden NFL 18: Gameplay Impressions

Finally, we have got gameplay from Madden NFL 18 yesterday. Multiple youtubers who went to EA Studios captured footage of the game and released it. Here’s some footage from iMaveriq, CookieBoy, KayKayEs, and Sport Gamers Online:

Aftrr watching these videos, I can say that the presentation improved a lot. Some player models look good, thw grass is more detailed. However, I was disappointed that there wasn’t huge weather effects such as wear and tear during rain and snow games. Other than that, I can’t really judge the gane until I play it on the 17th but this left me excited to play it.

Madden 18 Gameplay Improvements

Hello, my name is Anthony Payton and here are some gameplay improvements in Madden 18. EA Sports discussed many issues that the community had with Madden 17. Here’s the complete list: https://www.easports.com/madden-nfl/news/2017/fixes

Some of the improvements include off-ball injuries, removing ball hawk mechanic for users, removal of swerving, better fumble recovering, and better curl and flat zones coverage. I was happy to hear to hear these improvements to be on Madden. The ball hawk mechanic being removed will show your skills on user coverage. Removing of swerving is also good because it was a annoying exploit that a lot of players use and it kind of ruined the passing game unless you know how to stop it. The biggest improvement I love is the flat and curl zones. Now, the flat zones should underneath routes more effective. Also, they add the “no cover zone” rule for curl flat zone because last year they usually leave corner routes open. Now, they would cover those routes.

Madden NFL 18: Gameplay Trailer Breakdown

Finally! EA Sports released some gameplay footage for Madden NFL 18. The one-minute trailer shows some gameplay improvements such as the all-new Target Passing, coaching adjustments and different play styles.

Also, on the EA Sports website, there are articles discussing these new gameplay mechanics. I will briefly discuss them and give my opinion on them.

Target Passing

This new passing mechanic allows the user to control the destination of the throw to the receiver by leading the receiver or throwing the ball between defenders. I like this idea but I want to see how if works because the description shows difficult to attempt in competitive gameplay.

WR/DB Interactions

With WR/DB mechanics, there will be more coverage situations for the passing game. The mechanics is based on press vs. beat, which the player uses the left and right stick to either press or beat left and right. Here’s a picture of different results:

I love this being add to the game because in Madden 17, I feel that speed was the only difference between wide receiver and cornerback. Now, that depending on how break out of a press or how you press becomes a factor, it would help the game.

Play Styles

In Madden NFL 18, there are three different styles to play. There are arcade, simulation, and competitive. Arcade style is fast-paced and more action packed compared to other play styles. Simulation is the closest you will get to real football. It stays true with players’ rating and health and the NFL rules. Competitive style is for tournaments and online players. It based on the player’s skills in the game.

NBA Live 18 Gameplay Impressions

Hello, my┬áname is Anthony Payton and NBA 2K should watch out for NBA Live 18. These gameplay videos is looking very good. The animations are smoother compared to NBA Live 16. The shot meter is fix now that you can get a perfect release to make shots. The Drew League and┬áStreet-ball modes look very fun. Also, the gameplay for “The One” is very interesting. In the NBA live website, it explained the game mode of having your created player to play in the NBA and the streets across the nation. Your created player have attributes similar to badges in NBA 2K17 which is very good. These gameplay content is getting me excited for NBA Live 18 and I’m definitely giving a review to the game.
